Midwifery services

As we recognise every couple has individual needs we recognise that not all Maternity services fully cater for those needs. We can provide a range of services starting with pre-conceptual advice, pregnancy testing, one to one midwifery consultations to packages offering all antenatal and postnatal care as well as packages to include birth support. If the service you require is not listed then please feel free to contact us as our aim is to cater for your individual needs.

Independent midwifery services for Loughton and surrounding areas of Essex

Bababoom offers mothers-to-be in Essex a range of bespoke independent midwifery services. Our team of experienced midwives can cater for all of your pregnancy and postnatal needs.

Pre-pregnancy advice

For advice and support pre-pregnancy, dietary advice, pregnancy testing and more, our midwife can be booked at a convenient time for you for a half hour consultation. The cost of this consultation is £30. 

One off consultations:

Whether it is for extra reassurance, a more convenient weekend or evening antenatal check to fit around your busy schedule, or an extra visit so that Grandma can listen to her grandchild’s heart beat, a one off consultation is perfect for you! Our experienced midwife will arrange an appointment with you at a convenient time at your home, lasting approximately an hour, this will give plenty of time for you to discuss any queries or concerns you have at the same time. The cost for a 1 hour consultation is £75.

If fitting around NHS clinic time tables or seeing a range of different midwives is not for you then an antenatal or postnatal care package may be just what you need. You will be given a named midwife who will arrange with you convenient times that she can deliver all of your pregnancy care needs. The midwife will monitor the health and well being of both you and your unborn baby and provide support during this transitional time for you as a family. You will be given her direct mobile contact details so you can liaise directly. The midwife will also be able to arrange all of your blood tests for you, via the NHS, and refer you to an Obstetrician if needed. These packages are available as a block of 10. The cost of an antenatal package is £750 as this includes direct midwifery phone support.

Continuing support for mother and baby

If having the continuity of a midwife after you come home with your baby is important to you, then our midwife is happy to support you during this time. As with the antenatal package this comes with full midwifery phone support, up to 10 home visits. The cost of this package is £750.

Ante/post natal care

If you are just looking for a one off post natal visit or breast feeding support then we can arrange this for you with our midwife on an hourly fee of £75.

The Bababoom! full care package includes all of the above, but in addition your midwife will put herself on call for you from 37 weeks gestation to 42 weeks gestation to accompany you to hospital as a Birth support during your labour, research shows that being well supported not only makes you feel safe and calm but has a direct effect on your labour and birth and after all, our aim is to ensure you have the best possible birth experience. The cost of this all inclusive package is just £3,500.
